Best Wildcats to Play in the NFL – Number 6: Clarence Scott

NFL defensive back from 1971-1983

Clarence Scott spent his entire pro career with the Cleveland Browns. His career began after spending his college years as a member of the Kansas State football team.

Spending 13 years in the NFL is quite the accomplishment, but when you add in that Clarence Scott spent all 13 of those years with the same team makes it even more impressive.

The Browns selected Scott 14th overall in the 1971 NFL Draft and he went on to become one of their best players ever, especially on defense. He started every game for the team in ten out of his 13 total pro seasons and had 39 career interceptions with the Browns.

Scott’s 39 interceptions with Cleveland is good for third all-time for the franchise.

Spending 13 years in the NFL is quite the accomplishment, but when you add in that Clarence Scott spent all 13 of those years with the same team makes it even more impressive. The guy was a tremendous defensive back during his K-State days and was one of the best to ever put on a Cleveland Browns uniform.

He comes in at number six on this list.
