Best Wildcats to Play in the NFL – Number 8: Jordy Nelson

NFL wide receiver from 2008-Present

The first current Kansas State alum in the NFL to appear on this list is Jordy Nelson, who is the eighth best NFL player to come out of Manhattan.

Nelson spent 2005-2007 with K-State and was a second round pick by the Packers in the 2008 NFL Draft. Nelson didn’t make a huge impact for the Pack until the 2011 season where he recorded 1,263 yards and a career high 15 touchdowns. He’d go on to get even better, notching 1,519 yards and13 touchdowns in 2014.

He’s a Pro Bowl caliber wide receiver and has the best quarterback in the entire league throwing the football to him.

Unfortunately, Nelson didn’t see the field at all in 2015 due to an injury that sidelined him all year. He’s a Pro Bowl caliber wide receiver and has the best quarterback in the entire league throwing the football to him.

Nelson signed with the Oakland Raiders during the 2018 offseason, which hurts considering how close he is to Kansas City, but K-State fans will still pull for him.

Jordy Nelson will go down as one of the best Kansas State alum to play in the NFL and he still has time to build on his legacy and climb higher on this list. For now, however, he sits at number eight all-time.
