Can The Pass Rush Find It’s Mark?

The Kansas City Chiefs starting pass rushers struggled against the Seattle Seahawks last week.  Neither Dee Ford or Frank Zombo were able to make much of an impact in the game.  That is disconcerting because we still have no idea just when Justin Houston or Tamba Hali will be making their return.

There might be some hope here though, as the Chiefs did get get an impressive performance from backups Dezman Moses and Dadi Nicolas.  The Chiefs may decide to  get both players some more playing time early on this week to see how they handle better competition.

Kansas City needs someone to step up in this group.  Ideally, that would be former first round pick Dee Ford, but we haven’t seen it from him yet.  If either Dezman Moses or Dadi Nicolas can help pick up the slack, that would be a huge boost to the defense.  Frank Zombo is a reliable player in certain roles, but he is not a strong pass rusher.

This is a good team in Kansas City with a lot of talent across the board.  However, the Chiefs will need to step their game up in certain areas in order to make a Super Bowl push.  Expectations are high this year, and the Chiefs need to be ready to live up to their potential.
