Is The Offensive Line For Real?

A constant headache in Kansas City over the past couple of seasons has been instability and poor performances on the offensive line.  There was no sign of that against Seattle though as the starting offensive line looked much improved.  The Chiefs were able to impose their will in the running game and keep Alex Smith and Nick Foles well protected against a top tier defense.

The Chiefs will be facing another quality defense this week in the Los Angeles Rams.  The Rams feature some of the elite defensive linemen in the NFL in Aaron Donald, Michael Brockers, and Robert Quinn.  This will be another huge test for KC.

The Chiefs defense is expected to drop off a little bit from last season.  That means it will be important for the offense to step up and carry more of the load.  That will start up front with the offensive line.  If Alex Smith has time, and the running backs have holes, the Chiefs should be able to effectively move the ball, score, and control the clock.
