Fantasy Football Running Backs: #14 Mark Ingram – New Orleans Saints
Fantasy Football owners should be skeptical of Mark Ingram, but if he can stay healthy he can be a fantasy goldmine. That potential is what keeps him in the top fifteen. That injury history is what prevents him from being top ten.
Limited Weapons in New Orleans: The Saints have struggled to hold onto talent over the past couple of seasons due to salary cap issues. That has resulted in a limited number of weapons for the Saints offense. That should help make Ingram become more of a focal point.
Will He Stay Healthy?: The question with Mark Ingram is health. Can he make it through a full season? That’s an even bigger question with Ingram primed to be even more of a focus for the offense. When he is healthy he’s a dangerous weapon, but the most important ability is availability.
Draft Value – 4th Round: The health questions kill Ingram’s value. He could easily be a first or second round option if he had a clean bill of health. If you’re taking Mark Ingram, you’re taking a risk. Make sure you’ve got a reliable running back on the roster, and you should probably invest in one of the guys backing Ingram up.
