Fantasy Football Running Backs: #6 Jamaal Charles – Kansas City Chiefs

A couple seasons ago, a Fantasy Football owner who had Jamaal Charles on his roster was almost guaranteed a spot in the playoffs as the Kansas City back represented a full third of the Chiefs offense.  He was dominant both in the run game and the passing game, which loaded his owners with points.  He likely won’t get that same result this year, but he still carries huge value.

Retribution Season:  Some people worry about a running back coming off an ACL injury, but Jamaal Charles has done this before and put up one of the best seasons of all time.  Charles will be thinking big play every time he touches the ball, and that will pay off huge for his owner.

Sharing The Load?  The real question facing Jamaal Charles is how much time will he see on the field.  The Chiefs found out last year that they are incredibly deep at the running back position with Charcandrick West, Spencer Ware, and Knile Davis all being more than capable in the backfield.

Draft Value – 2nd Round:  Why is Jamaal Charles worth a second round pick when guys like Eddie Lacy and Arian Foster aren’t?  Because Charles is also a huge asset in the Chiefs passing game.  The Chiefs are going to work Charles into a lot of isolation situations where he can be in a spot to make one guy miss en route to a big play.  So get your bid in early.
