NFL pundits and Fantasy Football experts alike are drooling over the potential of Cowboys rookie running back Ezekiel Elliot. As with any rookie, there is no guarantee here (Trent Richardson), but sometimes these rookie backs are fresh enough to catch lightning in a bottle (Todd Gurley).
Best OL In Football: The pressure on Ezekiel Elliot will be heavy, but he is going to be running behind the best offensive line in the NFL. The Cowboys line up top ten players across their entire front five. That is going to give Elliot plenty of room to work with.
Unrealistic Expectations?: Ezekiel Elliot is a high profile draft pick for the Dallas Cowboys, and the expectations are that he will be nothing short of Emmitt Smith reincarnated. Is that fair? No. Is that realistic? No. Is that football in Dallas? Absolutely. A lot will be demanded of Elliot, and it’s possible that it will be too much for him to handle.
Draft Value – 2nd Round: He may just be a rookie, but the hype is strong with Elliot and he will be drafted early. Elliot is actually a pretty safe pick at this point because of the offense around him. The Cowboys offensive line is dominant and opponents have no choice but to respect their passing game with Dez Bryant and Jason Witten. That will leave plenty of opportunities for Ezekiel Elliot to rack up the points for you.
