Running Game Looks Good

The Kansas City Chiefs are still a running football team.  That’s not a surprise.  What may surprise many people out there though, is that the Chiefs are still a very good running team even without Jamaal Charles on the field.  I already gave the offensive line its due credit for this, but there is no way we can forget about the backs themselves.

The Chiefs running backs racked up 131 yards on 27 carries (not including runs by quarterbacks).  That’s a strong outing for the group, and included three of the backs (Spencer Ware, Charcandrick West, and Knile Davis) each averaging over four yards per carry.  That is just impressive.

KC will definitely be getting some phone calls about the availability of their running backs on the trade market.  It’s unlikely that the team will keep all of their backs on the roster, though certainly not impossible, and they should be able to use a strong performance like this to drive a deal home sometime soon.
