Chiefs to Watch During Preseason – Number 1: Tyler Bray

Oh Tyler Bray. The name we’ve heard so much lately, but still know so little about.

Anyone who reads up on the Chiefs or listens to sports talk radio probably knows that Bray apparently has a rocket for an arm. That’s what I’ve heard consistently about him anyway.

All Chiefs fans have seen from Bray, however, is minimal work at quarterback. He’s had no regular season snaps for Kansas City yet continues to be a member of the team. Hell, Dorsey gave him an extension during the 2015 season!

Tyler Bray is the player you’ll want to keep the closest eye on this preseason because this team is high on him and we have no idea why.

Bray was initially announced as the backup quarterback to Smith heading into training camp and something just didn’t feel right about that. Months later, Foles was signed and it showed that the Chiefs didn’t have confidence in Bray being that guy holding the clipboard.

Tyler Bray is the player you’ll want to keep the closest eye on this preseason because this team is high on him and we have no idea why. If he plays well, he’ll likely get the third spot on the depth chart or will be traded. If he plays poorly, he’ll surely be released and it’ll be yet another failed quarterback project down the drain.

Personally, I’m still rooting for Aaron Murray to emerge out of the preseason, but Bray has been impressing Andy Reid and the rest of the staff for three years now and we have no idea why. Time to find out why.

Next: That quarterback battle though...
