The Kansas City Chiefs play their first preseason game on Saturday and this is the opportunity for several guys on this team to prove themselves to the coaches and staff.

The preseason might seem like a bore to some people. The “ones” only play a few series and then their bench time increases during the four-game stretch. “Yawn”, most people would probably say.

Preseason, however, gives the players on the bubble of being cut the chance to fight for their roster spot. It allows them to shine on the field and prove that they can make a contribution to the Kansas City Chiefs during the 2016 regular season.

The Chiefs have some exciting storylines to watch this preseason and a lot of those are just about players on their own. The backup quarterback situation is certainly one worth looking into and so is what will happen to some young talented guys who joined the team not too long ago.

Let’s take a look at five players worth taking a close look at during this preseason.
