2016 Fantasy Football Quarterbacks: NumberTen – Jameis Winston, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Jameis Winston impressed as a rookie and has the natural talent to be one of the best fantasy quarterbacks in the NFL. With Adam Gase calling the shots in Tampa Bay, you can expect a ton of down the field passing which gives him the opportunity to score points in bunches.

He Has The Weapons. You can’t say that the Bucs haven’t lined up some excellent talent for Jameis Winston to throw to.  Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson are physical mismatches for almost every defensive back in the league.  Winston just needs to put the ball up where only his guys can get it, and he’ll be successful.

Sophomore Slump? Jameis Winston was impressive as a rookie, but sophomore slumps happen all the time.  The rest of the league has been studying his tape all offseason and will be making adjustments to stop him.  So the real question is whether or not Winston can adjust to the adjustments.  His value, and NFL future, depend on him being able to do that.

Draft Value – 5th Round: The possibility of a sophomore slump is enough reason to not take Winston too early.  However, he should be snapped up in the fifth round as a part of the run on quarterbacks.  A reliable veteran backup in the later rounds wouldn’t be a bad investment though.
