2016 Fantasy Football Quarterbacks: Number Eleven – Eli Manning, New York Giants

Eli Manning is kind of a hit or miss option as far as fantasy quarterbacks go. One week he’ll be on fire, throwing for 400 yards and 5 touchdowns.  The next you might have assumed he was on a bye week.  That doesn’t change much this year as his entire wide receiver corps comes with questions.  Even Odell Beckham Jr could be a liability if corners test his composure.

Weapons Are Top Tier: If everything goes well, Manning could have three premier targets this season in Odell Beckham Jr, Victor Cruz, and rookie Sterling Shephard.  All three have big play ability, and Eli can make every throw on the field.

Instability An Issue: Odell Bekham Jr has to keep his temper in check.  Victor Cruz has to stay healthy.  Sterling Shephard has to put his talent to work on Sundays.  Each of those individual factors is an issue on their own that could hamper Eli’s production.  He will need some stability from at least one of these guys to be a consistent high scorer.

Draft Value – 5th Round: The drafting of Eli Manning should probably mark the end of the run on quarterbacks. If he’s still on the board and you don’t have your guy, go ahead and make the move (unless you’ve got a better plan in mind).  Eli really isn’t a guy to build around, so passing on him isn’t a big mistake.
