2016 Fantasy Football Quarterbacks: Number Seven – Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers

Philip Rivers has been one of the premier fantasy football quarterbacks in the NFL for years. His production has remained high despite his getting older and the Chargers falling apart around him.  Rivers comes into this season with some new weapons on offense to help supplement his game, and a defense that should ensure every week is a high scoring affair.

Passing Game Never The Problem. The Chargers love to sling the ball all over the field, and Phillip Rivers is good at it.  With a strong receiving corps that features a number of talented receivers, Rivers is a threat to put up a big scoring play at any time.  With a questionable defense, fantasy owners can expect a lot of high-scoring games from Rivers.

Can The OL Keep Him Upright? Philip Rivers is no spring chicken, and he has taken a ton of hits over the years.  The Chargers have struggled to protect him in any way the past few seasons, and it has to have taken a toll.  If they can’t fix that, this may be a short season for Rivers.

Draft Value – 4th Round: Philip Rivers is virtually interchangeable with the next two players on this list.  You could take any one of them in this stretch and nobody would question you for a second.  Rivers will rack up some points for you this year.
