Fantasy Football Sleepers to Target in 2016 – Number 15: Clive Walford

When looking for tight end options in the fantasy football draft, most will go for Rob Gronkowski, Greg Olsen, and Travis Kelce pretty early on. Clive Walford isn’t a flashy name by any means, but he’s a nice pick for later on in your draft.

[The Raiders] have the chance to be a good team in 2016, and with Derek Carr as his quarterback, expect Walford to get an ample amount of targets each week.

Say you do land one of the aforementioned tight ends earlier on. They’ll have a bye week eventually and Walford could be a nice replacement.

Walford didn’t make a huge splash in fantasy football last season until week seven. He put up ten points when the Raiders took on the Chargers and went on to post points every week after that.

He never topped that ten point performance, but 2015 was his rookie season, and the Raiders have made strides. They have the chance to be a good team in 2016, and with Derek Carr as his quarterback, expect Walford to get an ample amount of targets each week.

It is worth noting, however, that Walford doesn’t necessarily have the number one tight end job locked up in Oakland. He’s competing with Mychal Rivera for the starting job, but my money would be on Walford to win the job.
