Fantasy Football Tight Ends: Top 15 To Target In 2016
By Collin Bell
2016 Fantasy Football Tight Ends: Number 12 – Antonio Gates
2015 Stats: 56 REC 630 YDS 5 TDS
While his 2015 season was plagued by suspension and injuries, don’t expect the 36-year old tight end to just lay down. Gates will be the Chargers’ main tight end this season, as San Diego lost Ladarius Green to Pittsburgh via free agency.
The Chargers will get Keenan Allen back from an injury, which will take some of the focus off Gates. They also signed Travis Benjamin and drafted Hunter Henry, the guy likely to take the reigns from Gates when he decides to hang up the cleats.
No matter how old he is, Gates will always be a big red-zone threat, and expect him to catch quite a few touchdowns this season, racking up a few points for someone’s fantasy team.
Gates is a good option to have, but his injuries do make him being a starter for your team a “risky” pick.
