2016 Fantasy Football Tight Ends: Number 15 – Martellus Bennett

2015 stats: 53 REC 439 YDS 3 TDS

Martellus Bennett finds himself with a new team this season,  as he was traded from the Bears to the Patriots on draft day. Bennett surely doesn’t have a problem with the trade or being the number two tight end for New England, calling former QB Jay Cutler the worst quarterback in the NFL in a recent interview.

Bennett has been a viable fantasy tight end in recent years, putting up respectable numbers as the Bears’ number one tight end.

Even though he’ll be the back up, he will likely thrive in two tight end formations because the vast majority of the defense’s attention will deservedly go towards Rob Gronkowski (who’s just a bit higher on this list.

You might remember the Patriots flourishing in the two tight end set years ago with Gronk and with Aaron Hernandez. Bennett will see plenty of trips into the end zone, but he’s not the best tight end on his team.

The best option here is for a second tight end on your fantasy roster or a good pick up if your starter goes down or is on a bye.
