2016 Fantasy Football Defenses: Number Three – Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks do it on defense. They grind out the opposing team with the pounding they induce on the defensive side of the ball. They’re a tough and physical team looking to inflict pain on defense.

The team from the Northwest is led by Richard Sherman on the defensive side of the ball. Sherman had two interceptions, 14 passes defended and 33 tackles last year.

More from Fantasy Football

The defense as a whole put up solid numbers last year. The team put up 14 interceptions, 17 forced fumbles (three touchdowns) and 37 sacks. That will play in the NFL.

The Seahawks had nine games with more than ten fantasy points scored. Three games were over 15 points, and one came in at 20 points. The least total of points Seattle received was 0 against the Rams in week 16.

The Seahawks match-ups aren’t great this season. They have six bad, two good and eight decent match-ups this season.

Five of the seven pro bowlers were defensive players. That’s a lot of talent on defense for offenses to deal with weekly. It’s almost not fair.

If you are fortunate enough to pick up this defense, don’t hesitate. I would look to pick this team up no later than round 13 of the draft. I wouldn’t blame you if you went a round or two earlier for a defense of this caliber.
