Fantasy football defenses can make a team champion or a team championship.

This article will explain the top 15 defenses to target in fantasy football for the 2016 season. The real games begin in a little more than a month. It’s time to prepare for the draft.

Defenses aren’t the sexiest pick during a fantasy football draft, but a good defense can play a major role to a team’s success or failure.

Defenses provide what I like to call “hidden points.” These are points an owner doesn’t expect to receive during the week. These “hidden points” could be the points the team with the better defense could use to win the game.

Having a steady defense will allow a team to put in a riskier player in another position in hopes of a blow-up game. The team can do that with more confidence knowing the defense will make up the points if the risky player doesn’t work out.

Without further ado, here’re my top 15 defenses to target in a standard fantasy football draft.
