Kansas City Chiefs Top Ten Players Who Need To Step Up – Number Two: Eric Fisher

Despite the Kansas City Chiefs having Eric Fisher under contract in 2017 by exercising the 5th Year Option, this is essentially a contract year for him.  The Chiefs are very unlikely to pay the 5th year amount, simply because they can’t afford it…not to mention Fisher hasn’t earned it.  Fisher can earn a new contract, and that’s what the Chiefs are hoping for.

It is no secret that Eric Fisher has not met the expectations of his draft position.  The #1 overall pick in the draft is expected to come in and be a top tier player off the bat.  Fisher has not been that.  He has shown improvement though, and that is what makes this year important for him.  If he can build on last year, the Chiefs will give him a new deal and hopefully gain some stability.
