Kansas City Chiefs Players On The Roster Bubble – Number Three: Aaron Murray

The Kansas City Chiefs are not likely going to keep three backup quarterbacks on the roster again.  At some point the team simply has to decide that someone isn’t going to cut it and let them go.  Right now, with Tyler Bray being put back in the #2 role at the end of OTAs, it would seem that Murray is the prime candidate to be let go.

Aaron Murray has had opportunities to step up into the role, but he failed to unseat career backup, Chase Daniel, in either of the past two seasons.  Now he seems to be sitting behind Tyler Bray for the primary backup role, and the Chiefs just drafted Kevin Hogan.  That makes it tough to see where Murray’s spot on the roster would be.

Murray’s path to making the team lies in his beating out Tyler Bray during Training Camp.  He will have his opportunities, but he must capitalize on them this year.  Murray needs to convince the Chiefs coaching staff that he has potential as a future starter.
