Kansas City Chiefs Players On The Roster Bubble – Number One: Knile Davis

The most likely player on the Kansas City Chiefs roster to not make it out of Training Camp is running back Knile Davis..  Davis has flashed his talent at times during his stay in Kansas City.  However he hasn’t provided the consistency that was expected of him.

The real issue facing Davis is the emergence of Charcandrick West and Spencer Ware.  Both young backs managed to surpass Davis on the depth chart last year, and both were re-signed in the offseason.  That leaves Davis as the odd man out.  On top of that, the Chiefs have invested in rookie Tyreek Hill who could serve as the kickoff return man.

It’s hard to see any way that Knile Davis makes the Chiefs roster this year.  He would have to prove himself more valuable than his competition at both kick returner and running back.  Only proving himself at one spot wouldn’t be enough because of the investments the Chiefs have already made in other players.  Davis could end up being a trade piece before final cuts are in.
