The star of Day One of the Kansas City Chiefs Training Camp appears to have been rookie defensive back Eric Murray.  With there being limited work outside of drills, due to the limited roster, there wasn’t a lot of opportunity for players to make their mark.  However Murray was attributed with a pair of big plays.

Eric Murray is in an important spot for the Chiefs.  He is one of several players who is being tried out at safety.  If he can step up into that role early on, it will be a huge boost to the Chiefs defense that needs to replace Husain Abdullah.

Murray got off to a good start today with a pair of pass breakups, which is good news.  His ability to disrupt the opposing passing game is what the Chiefs will need the most.  Though it is early in Training Camp, Murray’s performance today is notable, and he’s a player that Chiefs fans should keep an eye on moving forward.
