Kansas City Chiefs Top Rookies To Watch – Number Six: Demarcus Robinson – Wide Receiver
The Kansas City Chiefs may have gotten a huge steal when they drafted Demarcus Robinson in the late 4th round. Robinson was once a top tier prospect until he continually got in trouble at Florida for various infractions. That killed his draft status as some believed he was a 2nd, or even late 1st, round talent.
Robinson will be facing the same challenges laid out for Mitch Mathews. However, the Florida grad brings a much more rounded talent base to the picture and is a far better athlete than the UDFA from BYU.
Demarcus Robinson figures to fall into the depth chart this year, but make no mistake…this young man has some real talent. If he can keep his head on straight and do what his coaches tell him to do, I think we’re looking at the Chiefs eventual #2 wide receiver.
He’s got work to do, and it starts right now in Training Camp. Let’s hope that the loss of money from his draft status will be enough to teach him a lesson.
