Kansas City Chiefs: Top Ten Training Camp Positional Battles

Kansas City Chiefs Top Position Battles – Number Six: Backup Running Back
The deepest position on the team will be a lot of fun to watch in the offseason. It’s nice to be in a position where you can’t really get it wrong. However, this position battle could have a lot of bearing on the future. Injuries and age may be catching up to Jamaal Charles, and it’s important for the Chiefs to have a plan beyond the next couple of years.
a. Charcandrick West – He’s the most ideal option to spell Jamaal Charles. Could start for no less than 15 NFL teams right now.
b. Spencer Ware – Prototype 3rd down back, but with something a little extra. Like West, he could be a starter somewhere else.
c. Knile Davis – We may be seeing the end of Knile Davis in Kansas City. Trade option? That would be ideal for the Chiefs.
d. Darrin Reaves (watch out for) – The Chiefs staff loves him. Even with the crowded roster ahead of him, he could catch a roster spot.
e. DeAnthony Thomas (not likely) – It’s getting tough to see just how Thomas will fit on the Chiefs roster…but it certainly won’t be in this spot.
