Fourth Toughest Running Back in 2016 – Devonta Freeman

After a less than 250 yard season in 2014, Devonta Freeman broke out onto the scene in 2015. He rushed for 1,056 yards, 11 touchdowns, and also had three receiving touchdowns.

The Chiefs square off against Freeman’s Atlanta Falcons in week 13 of the regular season, so we should have an idea as to what both teams are capable of by that point. The Falcons have disappointed many over the past few seasons, not having made it back to the playoffs after the 2012 season.

Freeman was injured last year and missed three starts because of it. He has the ability to be one of the best running backs in the league, but running backs are also very hit and miss. It’s possible for one to have a fantastic season and then struggle the next year. Let’s hope for that second option in 2016.

With Freeman recording over 1,000 yards rushing and close to 600 receiving, he’s a threat in both areas. Matt Ryan will certainly use that to his advantage, and in a road game near the end of the year, Devonta Freeman could have a great day or a horrible day for the Atlanta Falcons against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Next: Possibly a bounce back year?
