Best quarterbacks in Kansas football history: 7. Bill Whittemore

Bill Whittemore is a fairly recent product for the Kansas Jayhawks, playing for the team in 2002 and 2003. He finished his two-year career with 4,051 passing yards, 29 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.

Whittemore played for the Jayhawks when the team was pretty lousy. They went 8-17 during his two years in Lawrence, but the guy sure could tear it up on the gridiron.

During his first season in 2002, Whittemore threw for over 1,600 yards and 11 touchdowns. He followed it up with another impressive campaign in 2003, tossing for 2,385 yards, 18 touchdowns, and only six interceptions.

Whittemore could also do damage with his legs, rushing for a total of 1,083 yards in two seasons and weaving his way into the end zone 21 times.

Whittemore did all he could to make the KU football team relevant during his time there, but the team couldn’t finish games off. He makes this list at number seven.
