Best quarterbacks in Kansas football history: 9. Mark Williams

KU’s final two years in the Big Eight saw Mark Williams as their quarterback. He played for the Jayhawks for both of those years and finished his career with 2,293 passing yards, 16 touchdowns, and ten interceptions.

Williams played in 18 total games in those two years and led Kansas to winning seasons in both 1994 and 1995. The 1994 season saw the Jayhawks end the year with a 6-5 record and the 1995 season saw them go 10-2.

That 1995 season was great for KU, as they not only had a great record, but also tied for second place in the conference. They earned a bowl berth and were victorious in the Aloha Bowl.

Williams’ stats might not have blown anyone out of the water, but he led his team to two winning seasons, something that is rare for KU football these days.

He makes this list at number nine.
