Not This Year – Detroit Tigers

For the newer generation of Kansas City Royals fans, it’s probably weird to see the Detroit Tigers struggling so much in the past two seasons.

The bullpen is what has killed Detroit in the past few seasons, even being their downfall in the postseason, but they still haven’t added enough good arms to propel them to a championship.

The Tigers won the AL Central for four straight years before the Royals claimed it as their own, and they were always playing big brother to the boys in blue. In 2013 and 2014, the Tigers always found a way to beat the KC Royals, and it was frustrating.

The Royals made a statement by embarrassing the Tigers frequently last season, and Detroit shouldn’t be too big of a threat to fight for the title this season either.

As of May 31st,  the Tigers are two games under .500 and have the third worst bullpen in the entire major leagues, according to ESPN. The bullpen is what has killed Detroit in the past few seasons, even being their downfall in the postseason, but they still haven’t added enough good arms to propel them to a championship.

This season, the Tigers will likely finish near the bottom of the central, just like last year where they were literally in the cellar of the division.
