Chiefs with Most to Prove in 2016 – Number 1: Dee Ford

This should come as a surprise to no one, as Dee Ford has been nothing but disappointing since his first-round selection in the 2014 NFL Draft.

If there’s any player that needs to step up, especially in the case of Justin Houston not being able to go this season, it’s Dee Ford.

The fact that Ford is still most known for running away from Frank Gore during a game against the 49ers shows that his career has not been the most impressive to this point.

Ford, a scary linebacker out of Auburn, has struggled so far during his two years. He’s had one good game in a Chiefs jersey and that came this past season against the San Diego Chargers. The Bolts were throwing a pretty banged up offensive line out on the field and Ford was able to record three sacks against them that day.

Since that chilly day at Arrowhead Stadium, Ford went back to being disappointing. The Chiefs re-signed Tamba Hali to a three-year deal, which shows that the confidence in the former Auburn alum isn’t there.

If there’s any player that needs to step up, especially in the case of Justin Houston not being able to go this season, it’s Dee Ford. He can pull an Eric Fisher this season and change his image among Chiefs Kingdom. It’s still possible.
