Most Disappointing Royals So Far – Number 1: Kendrys Morales

After a year in which Kendrys Morales looked to be the best free agent signing by the Kansas City Royals EVER, he’s hit a slump like none other in 2016.

Last season, Morales was “the guy”. Fans could always depend on him for a big hit or a home run to put the game away if need be.

As of May 20th, Morales is batting .195/.252/.336. This is hardly the follow-up that Royals fans expected heading into the season after winning a championship.

Morales is really struggling from the left side of the plate, only batting .143 as opposed to his .351 average as a righty so far this season, according to ESPN. Why not have him bat right-handed from here on out? Who knows what Ned Yost is thinking?

Last season, Morales was “the guy”. Fans could always depend on him for a big hit or a home run to put the game away if need be. This season, however, Morales has had little of those moments.

Of course, he hit the walk-off home run in the 13th inning against the Braves, but that’s one of his few shining moments so far in 2016. Hopefully, Kendrys Morales can figure out what is wrong at the plate, and soon. The Royals need him to get back to 2015 form, and fast.
