Justin Houston

Some unfortunate news came out this off season about Justin Houston. The knee injury he suffered during the Bills game on Nov. 29th was much worse than the Chiefs originally thought.

They found out that Houston’s ACL wasn’t functioning at all and he needed to have surgery. The Pro Bowler went under the knife Feb. 16th. It will take Houston possibly until mid-November to heal and be able to get back on the field.

The Chiefs need him on the field if the team wants to make a deep run in the playoffs.

When healthy, Houston is a dominate force. During 2014 season, the pass rusher collected 22 sacks, four forced fumbles and 59 tackles. Quarterbacks don’t have much time to pass the ball when Houston’s in the game.

With Houston’s potential absence for most of the year in 2016, other players have to step up. Guys like Dontari Poe, Chris Jones and veteran Tamba Hali have to get pressure on the opposing quarterback to help the Chiefs secondary jump the passes and get picks.
