Marcus Peters

Defensive rookie of the year, Marcus Peters, is quickly becoming a stud for the Chiefs. The 2015 18th overall draft pick has the numbers to back that statement up as well.

The ball hawk hauled in eight interceptions for 280 yards and two touchdowns while batting down 26 passes.

He can also hit. Peters collected 53 tackles, seven assists and one forced fumble for Kansas City last year.

He also picked off a pass during the wild card playoff game against the Houston Texans last postseason.

Peters will be heavily relied upon during the 2016 season. Former Chiefs corner, Sean Smith, left the Chiefs to go to rival Oakland Raiders during the off season.

Young cornerbacks: Phillip Gaines, Jemell Fleming, Steven Nelson and Marcus Cooper will have to fight for their jobs during training camp this summer. Rookie reinforcements: KeiVarae Russell, Eric Murray and D.J. White will look to take their place as starting corners for the Chiefs.
