Worst Case Scenarios – Number 3: AFC West flourishing

Just a few years back, the AFC West was a joke. The Broncos won the division with ease in 2012 and have won it every year since 2011. The Raiders have been a joke during that time, and the Chargers have recently slid down the toilet.

The Chiefs only finished one game back of the Broncos in the division last season, and one would think that this would be their year to raise the crown in the West. The problem is that it won’t be easy by any means.

Not only are the Broncos still posting an amazing defense out on the field, but the Raiders (yes, the Raiders) are steadily improving. They have their franchise quarterback, they spent a crap load of money on talented free agents, and they have all of the talk heading into 2016.

The Chargers still need to fix their defense and offensive line woes, but no one will count them out while they have one of the best quarterbacks in the league taking snaps.

The point being that the Chiefs could be in trouble if they get behind in the division early on. Hopefully, the Raiders will be distracted with the possible relocation to Las Vegas and won’t live up to their full potential, and Mark Sanchez will end up starting for the Broncos and repeat the butt fumble in every game.
