Hermann Missouri Wineries Number Five: Bias

Bias Vineyard and Winery is on the wine trail, albeit a bit out of the way. Still, they offer several solid wines that go well with about anything you throw on the grill.

You won’t catch many hints of floral in most of Bias’ wines. They use subtle fruit flavors to bring out the flavors. Some of their dry reds have a bit of a peppery aftertaste that pops with a steak.

Two dry reds really shine from their menu – the Chambourcin and the River Mist. Don’t pass these great wines by. If whites are more to your liking, then the semi-dry Reisling should tickle your fancy.

Bias also has several sweet blushes for those who don’t like dry vintages. They specialize with Weisser Flieder sweet blushes that go well with a variety of desserts.

While the wine list isn’t the biggest, their top wines are fantastic, and a place in the top five is firmly earned.

If you have a non-wine drinker in your party – no worries! Bias also has a microbrewery so you can order one their ales, wheat, or stouts.

If you are visiting on your own, and are not part of a wine trail event, you might call to make sure they are open. They are located on a loop road off Highway 100, so make sure to get good directions before setting out.
