Hermann Missouri Wineries Number Eight: OakGlenn

For maybe one of the most spectacular views in the Hermann area, just make the short drive east on Highway 100 to OakGlenn. While the driveway is easy to miss if you aren’t watching closely, and the path from the highway to the winery is quite long, the trek through the woods is well worth it.

OakGlenn sits atop a high hill, with the vineyards spreading down toward the river. This view from on high is absolutely beautiful and can be experienced from a massive outdoor deck.

As far as the vino goes, no particular selection from their list stands out. Their white wines are better than their reds, and they feature some nice sweet wine selections. River View Red might be their best product.

OakGlenn does offer the best night spot in the Hermann area. They often have live bands in the evenings, out on the deck. The view makes this a terrific place to spend an evening. This is a stop on the wine trail, and they often offer one of the best pairings. Otherwise, you can visit their tasting room when in town.

"Our hours November through March, Monday – Friday, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, Saturday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Sunday noon to 5:00 April, Monday – Saturday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Sunday noon to 5:00 pm May through September, Monday – Friday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Saturday 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, Sunday noon to 6:00 October, Monday-Sunday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm"

While the wines are good, not great, the view and the relaxed atmosphere make OakGlenn a winery you must visit when in town.
