Hermann Missouri Wineries Number Ten: Dierberg/Star Lane/Three Saints

Dierberge/Star Lane/Three Saints falls into this slot merely for the fact the grapes are not grown locally. Owned by the same people who own the local Hermanoff winery, Dierberg’s grapes are grown in California.

They feature some fine dry red, great for steaks and roasts. Sauvignon (Cabernet and Blanc), Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Syrah seem to be their specialties. Because their wine is imported from the west coast, the price is usually double or triple what similar local wines.

If you prefer California grapes, or if you would like to compare the difference in the wines from California and the local vintages, this is the winery for you. Located right next door to the Hermanoff winery, on Highway 100, with a fantastic view of the river. Want to stop by for a tasting? Here are their posted hours for their tasting room:

"Summer Hours: Friday-Saturday 10am-6pm | Sunday 11am-6pm Winter Hours: Friday-Saturday 10am-5pm | Sunday 11am-5pm Holidays: Closed Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Year’s Day"

Though locally owned, the Dierberg Winery is the only winery in Hermann that is prominently featuring wine produced elsewhere. The wine is still terrific but it isn’t from Missouri.
