The KC Royals are finally stopped the losing streak, but how did their minor league teams do this past week?

The KC Royals lost five games in a row and people went bananas with the “welp, it’s all over” outcries. That skid is over and everyone is right back on board with that third straight trip to the World Series and why not? They are 1-0 in May so far.

The KC Royals had a pretty ugly road trip and they didn’t fare to well overall on the West Coast.

They won their very first game against the Oakland A’s and then dropped the next seven contests against their West Coast opponents before finally grabbing a win in the final game. All I can say is it’s nice to have the West Coast completely off the radar at the end of April.

There are a few things that can be derived from April baseball, but the slow start shouldn’t be read into very much. In fact, Royals’ fans should be happy that the Royals came out of April 12-11. They aren’t historically good in that opening month.

Need more convincing that a slow start in April doesn’t mean doom and a hot start in April doesn’t mean a World Series appearance? The Philadelphia Phillies finished April with a 14-10 record. Don’t look for them to be playing anything other than golf come October.

The Royals escaped the month with a winning record in spite of some cold bats, but they had a nice little game yesterday to shake that streak. How did their minor league affiliates do?
