C. . CB. Georgia Tech. D.J. WHITE

In the fifth round, the Chiefs drafted yet another cornerback, this time in the form of D.J. White out of Georgia Tech.

He made some nice plays in college, so we’ll have to see if any of that transfers over to the pros.

You know, most of the time, if the Chiefs drafted three guys in one position, I’d probably be complaining a lot, but cornerback was a serious need. Kansas City showed that they were serious about improving the cornerback depth chart by selecting three different corners in the draft.

D.J. White isn’t necessarily a bad pick, but he probably won’t ever be a starter for the team. NFL.com notes that he lacks the basic skills necessary to be a starter, but that he could end up being a dependable guy on special teams.

This pick gets an average grade due to being the third of the same position. He made some nice plays in college, so we’ll have to see if any of that transfers over to the pros.

Expect White to compete for a spot on the team, but he’ll be someone we rarely see in the secondary, at least early on in his career.
