Best Sixth Round Selections of All-Time – Number 7: Zach Fulton (Chiefs offensive lineman from 2014-2017)

In the sixth round of the 2014 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs selected Zach Fulton. Fulton had become an extremely valuable player in Kansas City. Drafted 193rd overall in the 2014 NFL Draft, Fulton made an impression right off the bat, starting all 16 games his rookie year at right guard.

While Fulton lost his starting job in 2015, he still managed to start six games along the offensive line and played in all 16 games.

Fulton really showed his worth to the team when starting center Mitch Morse went out with a concussion and Fulton stepped in and played the position admirably. In fact, Zach Fulton was the starting center in both of the KC Chiefs’ playoff games this past season.

His ability to jump in anywhere on the line was Fulton’s biggest attribute and he eventually

Best Sixth Round Selections of All-Time – Number 6: Derrick Ransom (Chiefs defensive tackle from 1998-2002)

In the 1998 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs selected Derrick Ransom in the sixth round. He’d go on to start 26 games and play in 56 total.

Despite not starting a single game his first three seasons, Ransom impressed the coaching staff enough to earn the starting defensive tackle spot in the 2001 season. He had 41 tackles and three sacks that year.

The 2002 season, Ransom started in ten games, but didn’t record a sack and only had 19 tackles on the year.

That season would also be Ransom’s last in Kansas City. He played at Arrowhead Stadium for five seasons before playing with the Cardinals and Jaguars to close out his career. He was out of the league after the 2004 season.

Ransom cracked the top five on this list due to his five-year tenure as a Chief and having one full season as a starter under his belt. That’s pretty good value for a sixth round draft pick.
