Best Sixth Round Selections of All-Time – Number 9: Will Svitek (Chiefs offensive tackle from 2005-2007)

This might be a name that current KC Chiefs fans remember, as Will Svitek spent the first three years of his career along the Chiefs offensive line.

It wasn’t until the 2007 season, however, that Svitek got a fighting chance to be on the team. He only appeared in three games during his first two seasons but appeared in 13 games in 2007 along with four starts.

Injuries took Svitek out of the NFL for two full seasons, but he got another chance with the Atlanta Falcons in 2009. He spent four seasons in Atlanta, appearing in 45 games and getting 12 starts during his time there.

Svitek ended his career with stints in New England and in Tennessee and was out of the league after the 2014 season. He might not have been a career starter along the line, but Svitek was depth for the teams he played for and his long tenure in Atlanta showed just that.
