Kris Medlen Vs. Vance Worley

The Royals have only had two starts out of Kris Medlen on the season. They won the first game and should have won the second game.

A rare error by Salvador Perez followed by all of the blame being passed on to Joakim Soria saw the Royals lose a game in the late innings in Oakland.

Medlen, who came off his second Tommy John surgery last season, has looked pretty impressive for the Royals so far this season. In his two starts, he has a 2.38 ERA across 11.1 innings of work. He’s struck out 11 and only given up eight hits, but he’s walked eight also.

The Orioles are 9-29 against Kris Medlen and Adam Jones has done most of the damage. He’s 3-4 with a home run against Medlen. Meanwhile, Manny Machado is 1-3 with a double. That double came on a strange play involving Lorenzo Cain.

Meanwhile, the Royals only have one batter who has faced Vance Worley. Omar Infante is 3-10 against Worley in his career. So far this season Infante looks like he may be alright. He’s not great, but it doesn’t take great for him to outdo his 2015 season.

In two starts this season, Vance Worley has an ERA of 5.06 with 11 strikeouts across 10.2 innings of work. He’s given up six earned runs and two home runs so far this season.

Kris Medlen has looked great on the road and it will be nice for him to make his first start at home this season.
