KC Royals Vs Detroit Tigers Series Preview
By Scott Dillon
The KC Royals will look to get back on track as they square off against the Tigers later today. The Royals head in with a lead in the division.
The KC Royals dropped a victory late in the game to the Oakland Athletics on Sunday afternoon when the bullpen faltered. It’s not often the Royals do things like that.
In 2015, the Royals took the season series against the Tigers with a final tally of ten wins to nine. They also outscored their opponent 107-66.
The Royals successfully dethroned the Tigers as division champs for the first time since the 2009 season. They took their first Central division title and ran with it all the way to the World Series.
This year, the Tigers have revamped their offense and their rotation with additions like Justin Upton and Jordan Zimmermann. They’ve also added a couple of bullpen pieces to try and limit the late inning damage and sustain leads. Miguel Cabrera and Victor Martinez are both healthy and this team is as dangerous as ever.
Let’s see how the teams stack up and look at each pitching match-up.
