Lexington Legends: 2-4

The Lexinton Legends walked away with a paid of wins in the first two games of the week before dropping the last four. Their wins both came in interesting ways and had some assistance from the weather.

The first game started on April 11th and was suspended in the middle innings. When the game resumed on April 12th the Legends finally recorded the victory. Not only was it an epic come from behind win, it took two days to happen.

The Legends trailed by eight runs heading into the bottom half of the fourth inning and wound up winning that two-day game by a score of 9-8.

In the second game on the 12th, the Legends won 4-3 in a seven inning affair. The weather this time of year is unpredictable at best but if it helps the Legends win some games that’s not a bad thing.

On the season, the Legends have three players who are batting .300 or better. Chase Vallot, Brandon Dulin, and Samir Duenez are all swinging a good bat for the Legends right now.

Vallot has two home runs and three doubles on the season. He leads the team in batting average and is showing some patience at the plate with seven free passes.

Samir Duenez is showing a little bit of speed for a first baseman. He’s got four steals and four doubles on the season. He also leads the team with nine RBIs.

Amalani Fukofuka, one of the Royals’ higher rater prospects, is handling the bat well but saw his power numbers drop off in week two. He had no extra base hits during the week.

On the bump, Emilio Ogando, Foster Griffin, and Yunior Marte are leading the charge for the Legends. Griffin owns a 2.70 ERA in ten innings pitched. Marte has struck out nine in 8.2 innings and Ogando owns two wins on the year.
