KC Chiefs: Ten Best Fourth Round Draft Picks of All-Time

KC Chiefs Best Fourth Round Picks of All-Time | Number 1: Otis Taylor

Without a doubt, the best fourth round pick by the Kansas City Chiefs of all-time is none other than Otis Taylor.

Taylor, a fourth round pick out of Prairie View in the 1965 AFL Draft, went on to become one of the best wide receivers in Chiefs history. He was on the Super Bowl IV winning Chiefs team and is one of the few wide  receivers in franchise history to be able to say that.

One of the coolest things about Otis Taylor was that he spent his entire career with the Chiefs, which spanned from 1965-1975. Taylor racked up 410 receptions for 7,306 yards and 57 touchdowns during those 11 seasons.

Taylor’s best season came in 1971 when he caught 57 passes for 1,110 yards and had seven trips into the end zone. Those stats would be impressive now, so just imagine how impressive they were back in the early 70s.

The former fourth round pick hasn’t played a snap in the NFL since 1975 yet still sits second all-time in receiving yards for the Chiefs. That’s pretty dang good and shows just how elusive of a wide receiver Taylor was during his long career in the pros.
