With the first overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the KC Chiefs selected Eric Fisher, a player they hoped would solidify the left tackle position long-term.

Things have not gone as planned for the KC Chiefs. Eric Eager of Pro Football Focus had this to say of Fisher.
“Despite the Chiefs’ overall success during his tenure,” Eager said.
“Offensive line has been an issue in all three of Andy Reid’s seasons as head coach, with 2013 first overall draft pick tackle Eric Fisher (67.9) failing to grade positively in any of his three seasons.”
“In 2015, he ranked 31st among tackles with a pass blocking efficiency of 94.7 during the regular season, allowing four sacks, two hits, and 27 total hurries.”
This doesn’t sound too spectacular, but Fisher’s strength appears to be run-blocking. If Fisher continues to improve, like he has every season with the KC Chiefs, then he could develop into a viable pass protector.
On the other hand, the KC Chiefs lost their best run-blocker this offseason in Allen who played adjacent to Fisher.
Fisher could be affected by this depending on who will end up being the guard opposite of Zach Fulton.
Fisher’s trajectory is pointing up, but a regression may lead to a divorce between Fisher and the KC Chiefs.
If this occurs, Fisher will have a tough time shaking the ‘bust’ label on the open market.
As a result, Fisher has a lot to lose this year if his forward momentum shifts.
