Kansas City Royals: Five Teams To Watch Out For In 2016
Teams To Watch Out For In 2016 – Number 3: Toronto Blue Jays
One of the Royals’ most hated opponents from a season ago are still very much a possibility to knock off our boys in blue in 2016. The Blue Jays bring back most of their hard hitters from last year, and facing Jose Bautista and Josh Donaldson is never an easy task.
Toronto also has Troy Tulowitzki and Edwin Encarnacion returning to the scene as well, both of whom have the potential to be monsters at the plate.
Toronto is the most dangerous in their own stadium, as it’s a smaller park and makes it easier for them to belt home runs.
The Royals and Blue Jays had their fair share of beef last season, but the Royals got the last laugh, defeating the Jays in six games during the ALCS. It was a battle in the ALCS, and the Royals know that they beat a very good Toronto team.
The Blue Jays did lose David Price to the Boston Red Sox, and Price very much helped them get to the ALCS last year. That being said, the Blue Jays don’t have a ton of great starters in their rotation. Marcus Stroman will likely be their number one guy, but that will be the deciding factor for how well they fare in 2016.
With the drama that ensued between the Royals and Blue Jays last season, this will still very much be a big rivalry, and hopefully the Royals can once again top the Blue Jays this year.
