KC Chiefs: Five Potential Prime Time Games in 2016
By Bobby Miller
Chiefs | Texans: Playoff wounds still fresh
The KC Chiefs 30-0 victory over the Houston Texans in the AFC Wild Card Round this past season may come back to bite them next year.
The Texans look to be an improved roster through the additions of Brock Osweiler and Jeff Allen to name a few.
I severely doubt the Texans have forgotten about their first round beatdown at the hands of the KC Chiefs.
The Texans may be scheduled to play the Chiefs due to the story lines associated with playoff rematches, or the Texans and Chiefs could be flexed into a prime time game if the Texans manage to take advantage of their pitiful division.
This would present a unique test to the KC Chiefs who would be favored against an underdog seeking vengeance against them.
In the college ranks, they call this sort of scenario a ‘trap game’, but in the NFL losses are much less detrimental to postseason hopes.
Counting the Texans out in this match-up would be a huge mistake.
This game projects to be a hard fought game, but, luckily, Osweiler at helm must give the KC Chiefs some sense of security.
Osweiler certainly won’t torch the KC Chiefs with awe-inspiring throws, but Bill O’Brien has shown to be more than capable of coaching up quarterbacks and running an effective offense.
