Fourth: Ryan Lefebvre and Rex Hudler – Lorenzo Cain Bomb

In just the second game of the season, Lorenzo Cain flashed some of the power that Ned Yost knew he had all along. He would go onto hit a career high 16 home runs in 2015, but this first one made a statement.

The Royals were tied 5-5 in the bottom of the eighth and Lorenzo Cain had plenty of frustration to let out. He had been hit by a pitch in each of the first two games and took it out on the baseball.

"“He also has four home runs against the White Sox in his career and that’s the most for him in his career against any one team. Blast into left field! He’s hit ANOTHER one against the Sox!” – Ryan Lefebvre “OH….MY! The minute contact was made we had liftoff” – Rex Hudler"

Lorenzo Cain rode performances like this one to a third place finish in the MVP vote in 2015. While he’s not likely to put up the numbers to win that award, he should settle for being the Royals’ MVP and a World Series champion.
