Tenth: Steve Physioc and Rex Hudler – The Catch

The Royals and their fans were feeling some very cautious optimism about the season when this call took place. They were in first place in the American League Central but had lost Alex Gordon with a groin strain only the night before.

They had won the night before but now had to figure out how they would proceed with out the best defender in the American League.

The team and the fans didn’t have to wait long to breath a collective sigh of relief when Jarrod Dyson made a stellar play in left field. Rex Hudler and Steve Physioc combined for some on-air magic with this call.

"“Dyson makes a Willie Mays style catch and they get the double play. Oh My Goodness!” – Steve Physioc “OH My gosh. Oh what a play. Unbelievable. There’s no way, no way he makes that play. Oh, that was fantastic and wouldn’t you know it, second hitter of the game right after you lose your platinum glove winner the next guy Dyson steps up…” – Rex Hudler"

What better way to let everyone know that everything was going to be alright than this play and this call?
