Honorable Mentions
While these calls weren’t good enough to crack the top ten, they are still pretty exciting to listen to.
It’s not always easy to let your ears do all the work, but on these calls it’s encouraged to close your eyes and let the announcers paint the picture.
In this first honorable mention, Steve Physioc and Rex Hudler combine to make an exciting call in a game against the twins.
With the tying run on third base and two outs in the seventh inning, Kurt Suzuki hit a ball in the hole to the left side. I’ll let the announcers do the rest of the work.
The next honorable mention involves one of the Royals that often gets people out of their seats.
Alex Gordon did Alex Gordon stuff on this play against the Reds and Ryan Lefebvre painted the perfect picture.
“Alex GORDON makes a great play! And then punishes the fence!”
If the excitable calls on plays like these only warranted honorable mentions, you can bet that the rest of this audio journey is going to be a wild ride.
